Welcome to the Gyeonggi KOTESOL Business Owners Support Special Interest Group.
Quite a mouthful, right?
In short we are called GYOKO BOSS.
We consist of a group of GYOKO members who run their own businesses and would like to network with other members who are also navigating the business environment in Korea.
We would like to share our experience, pool our resources and learn from each other, because we believe that working together as a community, benefits everyone.

Bio I have been working in the English education field for the past 25 years and in doing so I have built up a lot of experience in this environment, and made many connections. I ran an academy in Gangneung for 10 years and spent the rest of the time teaching in hagwons, public school, university, government and business.
The purpose of establishing my own business is to connect teachers and schools, create school and camp programs, facilitate teacher training and eventually be part of a movement that ushers education into a new era.
I am at the very beginning of my journey and would love to learn from, and collaborate with, other business owners in the Korean Education environment.

Bio Rhett Burton has been working with young learners in South Korea since 2002. He started his teaching career at an English kindergarten, transitioned to a public elementary school, and then settled in a study room till the present day. He uses his study room as a playground for planning, designing, and implementing custom solutions to circle the square with children of all ages.

Bio Most people hate the sound of their own recorded voice. Gregaudio delivers professional quality audio to educators, publishers and authors so that they never have to listen to their own voice again.
I officially retired from teaching university classes in June 2024 but I continue to teach English part-time. I hold a Masters in Applied Linguistics and I have presented at local and international language education conferences in Korea and Japan.

Bio I started running a study room at my house in 2006. That eventually led to me opening Pumpkin Academy in 2012.
I love spending time with kids and my main goal is to be an inspirational teacher to my students. My focus at my academy is more on my kids than on the business.
My hagwon is like a small society for my students. They learn social skills, responsibility and experience the joy of learning.
I'd like to share my experience with other teachers and be inspired by others' experiences.

Bio I have been teaching across diverse educational systems in Uzbekistan, Russia, the United States, and Korea for about 20 years, working with students of different ages, levels, and learning backgrounds. My professional background also includes participation in international educational programs, work as a methodologist in public schools, and active involvement in peer support groups for teachers.
From 2020 to 2023, I co-founded JCS, an alternative school in Korea based on a U.S. homeschooling curriculum.
Since 2023, I have been running Anna쌤 English Academy, focusing on building strong academic and communicative skills,preparation for international exams and Korean school exams.
I am looking forward to exchanging experiences in both business management and education, creating opportunities for mutual growth and collaboration.
